A bronze prutah of Agrippa I, mint of Jerusalem – struck on a coin of the procurator Valerius Gratus or Pontius Pilate. Obv.: A canopy surrounded by Greek inscription [AΓPI]ΠA [BACIɅEWC] ('of king Agrippa'). Rev.: Three ears of grain and the date [L] ς ('sixth year'). On left (Surrounded by a circle), clear traces of the inscription "IOYΛIA", from a coin of Valerius Gratus or Pontius Pilate.
There are two options for the original coin (with the inscription IOYΛIA):
1. A bronze prutah of Valerius Gratus, procurator of Judea under Tiberius, depicting vine branch and amphora. 17 C.E. Cf. Ya'akov Meshorer, A Treasury of Jewish Coins (Jerusalem 2001), pl. 74, no. 326.
