A carved and panelled oak coffer, mid-17th century, 64cm high, 135cm wide, 56cm deep
Provenance: The Property of a Lady of Title, Ripple Hall, Gloucestershire
Condition Report:
Marks, knocks, scratches, abrasions consistent with age and use, Chips, losses, some areas of woodworm, some rotting to timbers especially to lower elements such as the legs, one rear leg with replacement timber and bracing, internally there is a modern pine baton to the front bottom rail Previously this has had a candlebox to the interior, this has been removed, The strap hinges are replacements and later cut in to the rear toprail, the lock and keeper are also lacking, Please note the top appears to be associated to the base, the base with evidence of having had a previous hinge where the top does not, the top is probably last quarter 17th century
