A carved duanshi ink stone

Of rectangular section and inverted U-form in the shape of a brick with a recessed underside, the reservoir on the face carved below a panel of dragons facing a single green-colored eye, all to the right of a vertical line of characters bearing the Kangxi thirty-eighth year date (1699), the upright long sides also bearing incised inscriptions, the right reading ba jiu shi kan jian, fen xiang ye du shu with seal yu shan, the left reading xue yu tang and signature [yi] yun with seal cang (chips).
