A ceremonial fabric and silver headdress - Turkestan - late 19th century

Composed of a woven fabric embroidered with metal plaques embossed in various designs on top and a rosette design at the middle and the back half of the perimeter. At the front, a large organic shaped plaque inset with a flat oval carnelian and a row of elongated embossed links ending with a large organic shaped plaque inset with a flat oval carnelian at each end and followed by a row of lozenge links followed by a row of lozenge pendants. A central dome-shaped element with a metal rod in center followed by strands made of treads and small white beads ending with tassels decorated with small white beads. A massive dorsal embellishment decorated with embroidered triangles some metal plaques and rows of tassels ending with a row of tasselled strands. A pair of temple pendants each composed of a large organic shaped plaque inset with a flat oval carnelian and a row of strands ending with lozenge pendants overlapping tasselled strands.
