A chair by Abraham Roentgen
Solid cherry wood, upholstery, textile coverings (later). Curved apron carved with rococo scrolls, protruding knees, slightly trapezoid seat. The open cartouche-form backrest with a central baluster carved on the front face with rocailles. The sides decorated with acanthus relief overlapping slightly onto the angular back legs. H 98.7, W 49.5, D 41 cm.
Neuwied, around 1755 - 60.
