/ family crest, bearing maker's mark ''BO'' to base of ink container and scratch weight 5=7, bearing label inside inscribed ''Collection of Dr James Na Smith WA Made by Thomas Boddington Silversmith during the Civil War hence no hallmark'' (however the mark is that of Jonathon Boddington who entered as a Silversmith in 1697 - 46 years after the Civil War!), 5.5 cm high, total weight approx 5 oz
