the tapering vase on ring foot, short neck with wide rim and copper-gilt mounts, decorated overall in various coloured enamels and worked in gilt brass wire with ho-o birds among chrysanthemums on a gold wire scrollwork ground, the shoulder with lappets depicting stylised ho-o birds and flowers
