Together with two similar private photo-albums comprising 114 early 20th-cent. photographs depicting various views of i.a. Egypt (20x), India (70x) & Switzerland (18x) (All photos with captions and dates in the albums). All with captions and dates in the albums 1931 except Egypt, these are dated 1928.
Various sizes (ca. 12 x 17 cm. & ca. 17 x 12 cm.), all mounted/ tipped onto 66 stiff paper mounts (recto & verso), bound as a block-book into 2 early 20th-cent. unif. albums (both ca. 23 x 32,5 cm.) with small photograph mounted on upper cover.
¶ Ad 1: Nice collection of private photographs taken around 1931 during a journey to the Dutch East Indies (especially to the islands Java & Celebes) comprising views of i.a. Bandung (2x), Batavia (2x), Buitenzorg (2x), Cipanas (4x), Karangasem (2x), Makassar (6x), Surabaya (2x), Weltevreden & Yogyakarta together with views of the Buddhist temples Borobudur (12x) & Prambanan (12x). Nearly all photographs accompanied by manuscript Dutch captions (dated between “10-7-‘31” and “18-9-31”) in blue ink on the paper mounts. – A few mounts sl. waterstained/ moulded in outer blank margin, but all photographs in good condition.
