A collection of 15 circa 1910 illustrated Charles Dickens books published by The Waverley Book Company - the last to be published under the eye of Charles Dickens which he had described as being 'this best edition of my works'. Volumes to be included are editions of: Nicholas Nickleby, Christmas Books Etc, Dombey and Son, Little Dorrit, Bleak House, Martin Chuzzlewit, Old Curiosity Shop, David Copperfield, Pickwick Papers, Our Mutual Friend, Sketches by Boz & Oliver Twist, Uncommon Traveller Etc, Christmas Stories & Edwin Drood, Barnaby Rudge & Hard Times and A Tale of Two Cities & Great Expectations. Illustrated by H K Brown - this is an attractive set. Bound in burgundy buckram cloth with a floral raised finish and gold gilt embossing to the spine - there is some slight age related wear to the cloth with some tear wear on the spine of Dombey & Son. There is some foxing to the pages but the binding is strong with no loose leaves. (15)
