A collection of Assyrian, Hellenistic, and Roman terracotta figure heads

Bronze Age through Roman Age

Comprising three Assyrian female heads and one androgynous head; four Hellenistic female heads, including one holding a psalterion; and six Roman female heads (one spurious), including one formerly a lamp handle and one of moulded lead; sold together with an additional Hellenistic terracotta cornucopia and a Roman bronze medallion of a figure riding a hippocamp. (16).

Sold by Rodeph Shalom Synagogue, Philadelphia, to benefit future programs.

The Rosaline Feinstein Collection of Ancient Israelite Artifacts at the Philadelphia Museum of Judaica encompassed over 100 objects ranging in age from 300,000 B.C.E. to 500 C.E. Many of the items were personally chosen for or given to Mrs. Feinstein by Dr. Nelson Glueck (American, 1900-1971), the noted rabbi, archaeologist, and president of the Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion.

Rosaline Feinstein and her husband, Meyer Feinstein, are also the founding donors of The Meyer & Rosaline Feinstein Center for American Jewish History at Temple University.
