A collection of British and Continental ceramics, 18th century and later, to include: a Worcester porcelain ‘Dr Wall’ period moulded cos lettuce leaf shape sauceboat, mid-18th century, with moulded lettuce stem handle and flowers to the body, painted with flowers, butterflies and insects to the body, 22cm long; a Derby porcelain barrel-shaped cider mug, mid-18th century, with moulded strapped bands and scrolling handle, decorated with floral sprays to the body, 11.3cm high; an English porcelain coffee pot, lacking cover, of baluster form with double scrolling handle and high thumb rest, the body with moulded vine pattern and decorated with colourful flowers and insects, 18.5cm high, together with a similarly decorated milk jug and tea bowl; a pair of Minton mint green scalloped edge bowls with white branch form tripod legs, incised Minton and numbered 1278, each 16.5cm diameter; and various other similarly decorated pieces including a Spode miniature teacup, a Mason’s Ironstone lidded twin handled jar, a Schierholz candlestick (AF), an Imari palette bowl and tea-bowl, two Samson Chinese export style ginger jars, a baluster vase, an unusually shaped pouring jug, a blue and white milk jug and miniature teacup, a blue and white bowl, etc. (lot)
Several pieces are damaged: the Worcester sauce boat with a chip and large crack from the rim; the Derby cider mug with two hairline cracks; the coffee pot with a hairline crack to the spout and firing flaws to the handle; the milk jug with large hairline cracks; the Imari bowl and tea bowl with cracks and chips; the blue and white bowl with restoration to the rim. Most pieces with wear to the underside consistent with age.
