circa 2nd-4th centuries C.E. and later

Comprising five lamps, two menorahs, and a flint striking rock; sold together with a modern carved soapstone Chanukah lamp. (9).

The Rosaline Feinstein Collection of Ancient Israelite Artifacts, Philadelphia Museum of Judaica.
Sold by Rodeph Shalom Synagogue, Philadelphia, to benefit future programs.

The Rosaline Feinstein Collection of Ancient Israelite Artifacts at the Philadelphia Museum of Judaica encompassed over 100 objects ranging in age from 300,000B.C.E. to 500 C.E. Many of the items were personally chosen for or given to Mrs. Feinstein by Dr. Nelson Glueck (American, 1900-1971), the noted rabbi, archaeologist, and president of the Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion.

Rosaline Feinstein and her husband, Meyer Feinstein, are also the founding donors of The Meyer & Rosaline Feinstein Center for American Jewish History at Temple University.
