A collection of gold and silver figural bookmarks comprising: an early 20th century 9ct gold combination bookmark by Sampson Mordan & Co. containing a miniature dictionary, 10.5cm long; a 9ct gold example by Sampson Mordan & Co. with enamelled Union Jack and American Stars & Stripes terminal, 8.7cm long; three late 19th/early 20th century examples by J.F. Fradley & Co. designed as Richard III, Miss Squeers and Mrs Bardell, approx. 10.5cm long; a Victorian silver example designed as a saluting Hussar, London, 1888, Henry Stuart Brown, 13.8cm long; a silver mounted tortoiseshell Army Service Corps example, 12.7cm long; and a Victorian silver enamelled Scots Guards example, London, 1889, Hubert Thornhill, 4.8 x 5.5cm; together with three silver plated British Heritage bookmarks (Winston Churchill, Sherlock Holmes and William Shakespeare), all in a wooden bijouterie case with glass lid, 48.5 x 33.2 x 51cm (11+ case) Provenance: The Geoffrey and Fay Elliot collection.
