A diamond, padparadscha and fancy-coloured sapphire bracelet, circa 1935 Set with a graduated row of pink and orange cushion-shaped sapphires, including a padparadscha sapphire, weighing 3.91 carats, spaced by old brilliant-cut diamonds, diamonds approx. 0.60 carat total, length 18.3cm, fitted case The padparadscha sapphire is accompanied by a report from GCS stating that it is of Sri Lankan origin, with no indications of heating. Report number 79223-90, dated 11th July 2019. By repute the fancy coloured sapphires were collected by Thomas Henderson of Nairobi in the late 1920s and early 1930s. The stones were subsequently mounted in this bracelet which was presented to his wife, Monica, in the early part of their marriage. Hence by descent.
