A faience candlestick with Chinoiserie decor
Cylindrical shaft with a vertical slit, below it a node and large drip pan. The domed foot with a Chinoiserie motif. Hollow glazed unmarked base. Older restored chips to the nozzle, drip pan and base, glaze wear and rim chips. H 19.5 cm.
Delft or Frankfurt, late 17th C.
This design is based on that of Baroque bronze candlesticks.
