A famille rose spiral-paneled baluster vase, 20th century

A Chinese-style porcelain baluster vase featuring a flared rim, a constricted neck, and a high-shouldered body tapering toward a circular foot. The exterior is decorated with alternating diagonal, spiraling panels. These panels consist of scrolling foliate motifs in white and dark teal green enamels, interspersed with five-petaled pink flowers in the famille rose palette. The neck is adorned with a pink ruyi-head border above a band of scrolling vines in teal. Underglaze blue concentric lines define the base of the neck and the foot. The interior of the neck is partially filled with a brown fibrous material.
