A fine 14ct gold heart-shaped plaque, hand engraved 'Presented to Hughie Green by The Royal Variety Club of Great Britain in appreciation of his many services on behalf of the Club's work for needy children, London, 1973'

Approx. 68mm x 72mm, maker's mark 'T.M.B.', hallmarked London 1973, 35.1g weight, minor surface scratches, in good condition

On 27 December 1971, Hughie Green hosted the Opportunity Knocks Variety Club Presentation Show. Guests included Sir Roger Moore, the contortionist Loretta, and actress Anna Karen of 'On the Buses' fame. He went on to serve the Variety Club for many decades, raising a large amount of money for good causes.
