A fine Colima standing woman, West Mexico

A fine Colima standing woman, West Mexico, c. 100 BC - AD 200, beautifully detailed and covered in dark ochre pigment. She is depicted with two tufts of hair over forehead and long braid down her back and wearing a necklace. She places her hands on the sides of her belly and her shoulders are adorned with scarification or cicatrices, which was a popular form of body modification. H: 5 3/4 in (14.6 cm). In fantastic condition and a fine example! Ex Southern California private collection acquired in 1970's & 1980's.
