A fine Dutch silver tobacco box
Rectangular with rounded corners and rocaille decoration. On the hinged cover an engraved version of Nehemia 8: reading of the laws of Moses, feast of tabernacles (Soekot) and on the reverse an engraved version of Samuel 6-14: the Ark of the Lord was taken from the house of Abinadab to Jerusalem.The maker possibly Hendrina Das, Amsterdam, P=1749. Size ca 15,5x5,5x3 cm. (Hereby six compote spoons with twig and shell decoration on the finial. Two 18th century, Amsterdam and four 1836. 835/1000, together with a fitted spoon liner)
