A fine French wood cockade fan, patented, see gold metal plate on the moveable shaft holding the dark green silk leaf, polished wood with thin gold line emphasizing the shape, carved and turned handle “Brevet de perfec est S.C.D.G”, height when closed approx. 29 cm; together with 6 other cockades or parts thereof, one covered in ruby leather with a mirror fitted to one side, height when closed approx. 23 cm: another covered in dark green velvet, the top section is silver metal, stamped A T. FEB 8, 1881…. brown glazed cotton leaf painted with flowers, height when closed approx. 23.5 cm; a black wood example and one of tan wood, extensively carved, with a small cockade section, height when closed approx. 28 cm; and two leaf sections for cockades with brass metal sides and green silk leaves (7) (Shipping category D)

The first fan is in good condition and the action works well. The dated velvet-covered fan is also a good example, the velvet a little rubbed and the leaf a little creased at the bottom. The rest have issues mainly with the leaves.
