A fine German field armour, made for a boy

dating: circa 1800 provenance: Italy, Fine set, finely made as the originals of the era. Fit-in helmet with skull in two halves, joined at the comb (provided with a thick roped border); visor ribbed in the center with cusped upper border and decoration that resumes the comb, eye-slots with prominence, vertical ventilation holes, followed by circular holes and, lower, with transversal holes; knob on the right side. Beaver and skull with release snap button, row of rivets. Lower border of the beaver and skull with roped flight groove, back part with plume-holder. Gorget with three front and back plates, smooth borders, front loin-guard ribbed in the center. Breast-plate ribbed in the center, with gleanings, upper neckline with thick roping so as the pauldron small plates, smooth gussets. Back-plate provided with single-plated culet, edge with a recessed band. Three-plated loin-guard, tassets with lower border with thick twisted rope. Pauldrons, brassards and knuckle-shields all carved en suite. Full-leg defense carved en suite, with articulated sabbatons ending in a thick rope. Iron rivets, roped en suite, edges with a recessed band. On a wooden exhibition mannequin complete with high pedestal. Armour height 141 cm. height total with base circa 174 cm.
