A fine German officer's campaign sword with chiselled and gilt decor, circa 1700The narrow, double-edged blade of flattened hexagonal section. Both sides of the root with an etched depiction of a warrior in antique-style dress, inscribed "Hanaball". Ostentatious iron basket hilt, the spaces between the bars filled with finely chased tendrils and shell decoration. Remnants of gilding. The original grip with several fullers, fine iron wire winding and Turk's heads. Flattened, eight faceted pommel. Length 105 cm.Condition: II
