A fine North Italian, late Gothic bevor from the Missaglia workshop, mid-15th centuryThe heavily ridged bevor with the edges struck outwards and a row of lining rivets. An iron buckle still preserved on the left side, a perforation for the missing strap on the right. The rigid, lightly ridged collar plate riveted in place. An "M" mark with a crown struck in the left of the plate. Old repairs in copper solder next to the chin und along the upper ridge of the collar. Dimensions 21.5 x 24.5 x 17 cm, weight 1054 g.Antonio Negroni, referred to as "Missaglia" after his place of residence near Milan, was one of the most skilful, best known armourers of the 15th century, producing suits of armour for numerous crowned heads of Europe.Condition: II
