Two round, turned medallions, finely sculpted and carved in boxwood, in the form of ladies wearing court dress. The medallions accurately turned, with several contours, extremely finely carved with a great many details and inscribed "R. ELISABET. ZU. HUNGERN." and "SUSANNAE. ZU. FRONPERG.". Inset in ebony panels. The panels in carved, hollow-fullered, ebonised and partially gilt fruitwood frames of later date. Slight signs of age. One panel with a continuous shrinkage crack. The gilding is rubbed. Diameter of the medallions 7.8 cm, including frame 14 x 14 cm. Condition: II +
