A garnet cluster pendant necklace

A garnet cluster pendant necklace, the cluster pendant centred with an oval cabochon garnet in closed-back setting, bordered by two rows of similarly set rose-cut garnets, suspended from a double strand garnet bead necklace with rectangular panel clasp, pendant length 3.5cm, necklace length 35cm
Garnets have slightly variable dark brownish and purplish-red hues and all have surface wear, scuffs/scratches and scattered nicks/chips. The oval cabcohon to the pendant is heavily included and some of the remaining garnets have small dark mineral inclusions and surface-reaching fractures. Garnets to the cluster pendant may be foil-backed to enhance their colour. The reverse of the pendant is fitted with a mother of pearl panel which my be later added. The pendant mount has considerable wear, with thinning and creases/dings to the edges of the setting, to the mount and to the bale. The loop fitting is later replaced. The pendant mount is untested and may be gilt metal mounted. The necklace clasp is heavily worn but functioning, with an area of solder repair to the tongue clasp, and is untested as gold/gilt metal. Combined gross weight approx. 17gm.
