A gilt copper shrine of Vishnu with Lakshmi and Garuda

Surviving with a buttery patina, this charming bronze has a Nepali inscription around the foot of the base: "sa? 737 bh?drapada ?ukla// ?r? devajuy?ke prati??h? y???// juro." Translated: "In the year of 737 (1617 CE), during the bright half of the Bh?dra month (August/September), the consecration ceremony (prati??h?) of the great god was performed."
