A gilt silver horsewhip - Turkestan - 19 century
Designed as a sceptre since its main purpose is to display wealth and status.
The body of the whip is engraved in geometric motifs and decorated with gilding. the bottom part is widening and inset with turquoise and coloured stones and decorated with filigree and gilding. with a hoop used for connecting to a chain. On top, there is an organic shaped symmetric design inset with turquoise and coloured stones and a hoop connecting to two leather straps.
