The fundame ground lacquered with a monkey seated grooming its young which sits at its feet, a leafy nanten (nandina) branch on the reverse, in brown and grey togidashi maki-e with red lacquer details, the interior of nashiji, signed on the side in seal form Shiomi Masanari; with a coral ojime. 8.5cm (3 3/8in) high.
