A good Mandau in its scabbard with knife.

A good Mandau in its scabbard with knife with a finely carved typical grip with tuf of hair, c 55 cm long single edged blade decorated on one side with brass tags in a well carved wooden scabbard with a rattan belt. The scabbard is decorated with tuffs of red hair.

Brought to Denmark by Niels Stoltz who managed a rubber plantation by Kuta Bharu in Kelantan on Borneo 1903–1924. He served in the ”Kelantan Volunteer Rifles” and participated in several punic expeditions both on the east coast of Malaya and in Sarawak as he spoke fluent Malay and knew both the whole of the east coast and parts of Sarawak.

Condition Report:
The bindings on the hilt slightly damaged, the blade rust marked.
