A group of 4 Coptic textile fragments, Egypt

A group of 4 Coptic textile fragments, Egypt, c. 5th - 7th Century AD. Lot includes a rectangular panel containing an elegant grape leaf motif in green and orange, with dark brown vine and borders, 9 1/4 x 3 3/4 in (23.5 x 9.5 cm), the second a narrow strip with a geometric device in dark brown,3 1/8 x 7/8 in (10 x 2.3 cm), and the last two are perhaps from the same garment, with red-brown floral elements against a black-brown ground, 7 x 2 in (17.8 x 5 cm) & 3 5/8 x 2 in (9.2 x 5 cm). Ex Iskander family collection, acquired prior to 1969; thence by descent.
