A group of Pre-Colombian or Costa Rican figures and masks, the first (2) Pre-Columbian stone maskettes, greatest 3"h x 2.5"w x .75"d; the second two miniature Costa Rican fertility red clay rattle figures in the form of a male and female, greatest 3.75"h. Provenance: David Cole was an influential dealer of California avant garde art during the 1950s and 1960s with a gallery in San Francisco and Los Angeles. He worked closely with Lee Mullican and Gordon Onslow-Ford, Dynaton artists, who were both drawn to the imagery and mythology of the Pre-Columbian peoples of Central and South America
