A group of ancient pottery fragments

A group of ancient pottery fragments, several noted as being from Elephantine and Anatolia. Lot includes four Coptic pottery sherds, c. 5th - 7th Century AD, with decoration in brown slip, a Glazed Islamic period blue and black sherd, c. 10th - 12th Century, a fragment of a glazed composition (faience) vessel, Ptolemaic, c. 3rd - 1st Century BC, and a group of Anatolian sherds of various ages and periods, the locations include Kanesh, Chan Chan and Tucume.. Largest pieces 3 3/8 x 2 7.8 in (8.6 x 9.7 cm). Two of the Coptic sherds are marked in pencil as coming from Elephantine, the Islamic period piece Aswan, both acquired in the late 19th - early 20th Century. Ex Massachusetts private collection acquired in the 1960's-70's.
