A group of five Chinese soapstone carvings, early 20th century, comprising: a large vase decorated with birds and flowers in relief, 25cm high; a 'dragon' square seal, 15cm high; a pair of Buddhist lions on stands, each 10cm high; a 'scholar and attendant' group, 12cm wide; together with a green hardstone carving of a tortoise, 9cm long (6)
All with nibbling to edges, natural inclusions and fissures, and areas of rough carving. The vase with at least three, long, deep fissures to stone.
