A hand-modeled Egyptian terracotta ushabti

A hand-modeled Egyptian terracotta ushabti, Late New Kingdom, c. 1200 - 1075 BC, a style found in the Egyptian territories of the Levante. Stylized in form with bald head, large eye and detailed nostrils and mouth, a large hoe incised on the torso opposite an oval. A very peculiar type representing Egyptian burial customs in an area that was part of Egypt several times in the long history of the country. L: 7 3/8 in (18.7 cm). Light deposits.
