The crest of a cubit arm in armour the hand grasping a spear is attributed in various tinctures in Fairbairn's "Book of Crests" (1905) to families named Chapman, Dowde, Dymock, Hawley, Ligh, McGillikelly, Macknight, Osmond, Taylor and White.
