A heavy Near Eastern bronze spear butt

A heavy Near Eastern bronze spear butt, c. 1200 - 800 BC, tapered with rounded tip and square profile, the mounting shaft circular with lightly flared bottom and a pair of rivet holes. L: 11 1/2 in (29.3 cm). Nicely patinated and well-preserved. Ex Hudson, MA private collection, acquired in Israel in the late 1960's.
