A helmet M 1872/74 for officers of the dragoons
Silver-plated white metal shell with gilt brass fittings. Relief comb, with a sculptural Medusa head at front, black horsehair plume, side socket (feather plume missing). Frontal band embossed with a bursting grenade between laurel branches. Multi-section chin-scales lined with black velvet, shaped as laurel leaves on leaf rosettes. Front visor lined with green leather, black leather flap lining with golden borders. Partially slightly damaged, signs of wear and age.
