A large Chinese Blanc de Chine Figure of Damo. 70cm - China - second half 20th century
The large graceful figure of Damo, standing on a vase spilling water and pearls amidst dramatic swirling waves, with the head turned slightly to the left. He is dressed in voluminous robes characterized by heavy folds that cover the hands, while open at the chest. The figure has a Zhuanshu script seal mark on the reverse and a potters mark. Condition. Very good intact with some minor kiln faults and lines in glaze (see images for details) Height: 70 cm (with original wooden base 72 cm) Weight: 12 kg Provenance: Previous private Dutch collection until 2012.
