A large Egyptian wooden mummy 'mask'

A large Egyptian wooden mummy 'mask', Late Period, c. 664 - 30 BC, from an anthropoid sarcophagus, with large eyes and angular features, the nose prominent and the lips are pursed, ears carved at the sides and part of headdress atop the head. 9 in x 10 1/8 in (22.9 x 25.8 cm). A nice example with traces of gesso and black paint remains on the eyes and brow. Ex collection of an Italian gallerist, Rome, acquired in the 1960s.
