Catalogue Note:
The present ewer's decoration follows the aesthetic that became fashionable in Iznik ceramics produced in the second half of the sixteenth century. An ewer of similar shape by Samson atelier is in the Ömer Koç collection, as well as a jug decorated with a comparable design (Bilgi 2015, p.578).
