A large Thorn coin set beaker and cover

Tall, tapering beaker with a moulded rim. Inset with 30 Gdansk and Königsberg coins dating from the 17th century with portraits of Sigismund III Wasa of Poland and Georg Wilhelm of Brandenburg. The domed lid with corresponding decor inset with a further eight coins bearing portraits of Sigismund III, Stephan of Poland and Albert of Prussia. The top with a coin dated 1634 with a bust of Bogislaw XIV of Pomerania-Stettin, the base with a taler bearing the portrait of Arch Duke Leopold V of Austria-Tyrol. H 20.5 cm, weight 676 g.
