A large Tibetochinese ploychromed wood figure of Mahakala. 18th/19th century
The lord of the pavilion standing in alidhasana on a wooden base, holding a kapala filled with blood in his left hand, wearing an elephant skin across his back and a tiger skin dhoti and adorned with the dharmapala jewels. His ferocious facial expression accentuated by red painted hair, eyebrows, lips and beard. Small repairs and small losses.
