A large Victorian 9ct gold mounted shell cameo brooch, depicting a finely carved classical female, likely a Dionysian/Bacchic follower. The mount stamped, and fastening with a C clasp and safety chain. Brooch length, 54mm. 16.2g.
Condition Report: Clasp in working order, and cameo completely secure in mount. Small surface reaching hairline to reverse (can be seen in photograph, lower left hand side). General surface wear to gold as expected.
