A large Victorian sterling silver and enamel cigarette or cigarillo case combination vesta and lighter, London 1895 by James Samuel Bell & Louis Willmott (reg. April 1894)
Of oval cross section with reeded surface, the lid raised by a simple thumbpiece and flush hinged. Hole through body for lighting wick. Applied with an enamel Royal cypher V R I surmounted by the crown. The end with inset steel striking plate. Suspension chain and hook. Gilt interior. Fully marked and part-marked.
Length – 13.8 cm / 5.45 inches
