A large Wesel silver coin set beaker
Interior gilt beaker with smooth rim. The outer surface engraved with snakeskin pattern and inset with 14 coins including a Schaffhausen taler dated 1555, a "wasp" or "mosquito" taler with Duke Heinrich Julius von Brauschweig-Wolfenbüttel dated 1599, and Saxon and Prussian coins of the 16th and 17th centuries. The centre engraved with a coat-of-arms in an oval reserve. H 13 cm, weight 578 g.
