“观沧海
东临碣石，以观沧海。
水何澹澹，山岛竦峙。
树木丛生，百草丰茂。
秋风萧瑟，洪波涌起。
日月之行，若出其中；
星汉灿烂，若出其里。
幸甚至哉，歌以咏志。”

About the poem
《步出夏门行》是汉末文学家曹操用乐府旧题创作的组诗，作于建安十二年（207）作者北征乌桓凯旋时。这组诗共分五部分，开头是序曲“艳”，正文分四章。
第一章《观沧海》描绘大海吞吐日月、包蕴万千的壮丽景象，表达诗人以景托志、胸怀天下的进取精神；
第二章《冬十月》描写征讨乌桓胜利归来途中所见的风物；
第三章《土不同》叙写黄河以北地区冬天的严寒景况与民风特点；
第四章《龟虽寿》则以慷慨激昂为基调，抒发了诗人老当益壮、积极进取的豪迈情怀。全诗意境开阔，气势雄浑。
“Stepping out of xiamen” is a group poem written by Cao Cao, a writer at the end of han Dynasty, with the old title of Lefu, written during the 12th year of Jian’an (207) when the author of the Northern March wuxuan triumphed. This group of poems is divided into five parts, beginning with the prologue “Yan Yan”, the body is divided into four chapters.
The first chapter, “Viewing the Bohai Sea”, depicts the magnificent scene of the sea swallowing the sun and moon, encompassing thousands of words, expressing the poet’s enterprising spirit with the vision of the world;
The second chapter, “Winter October”, describes the wind and things seen on the way back from the victory of Wu Yu;
The third chapter, “Different Soils”, describes the cold winter conditions and the characteristics of the people’s wind in the area north of the Yellow River.
The fourth chapter, “Turtle Although Life” with generosity as the tone, expressed the poet’s old when strong, positive and enterprising feelings of grandeur. The whole poetic mood is open and powerful.
