A large and impressive French painted canvas figural cartoon in the manner of Aubusson tapestries, 19th century, probably portraying Abundance personified in the Classical taste, surrounded by maidens and a reclining male figure, all heavily laden with trays and baskets of fruit, in an expansive Arcadian landscape, 344cm high, 406cm wide; with pine hanging rail, 405cm long
Condition Report: The cartoon is probably of late 19th century make.
The colours remain bright and vibrant, and the fabric both thick and pliant.
The areas of white sky are a little discoloured.
There are two or three defined horizontal lines in the weave running from side to side. These might be joins in the canvas in manufacture. They are not repairs.
Generally speaking the lot is in good shape.
