A large and impressive cordiform silver Asyk Pendant, Turkestan, Teke Tribe - 1880-1900
Worn originally also as a hair ornament. The piece is comprised of a necklace formed by a pair of ball-shaped beads and a pair of organically shaped beads. The heart-shaped Asyk Pendant is adorned with fine scrollwork, zigzag filigree and cut open work on its borders. Inset with 3 carnelian stones and a large carved carnelian amulet in the center. A missing stone at the bottom.
