Commemorating the battles of the Glorious First of June, St Vincent, Camperdown and the Nile, the generous ovoid bowl with two shields bearing fouled anchors, a circular cartouche enclosing the monogram 'WFL' and date '1802', and a patera, all suspended from tied ribbons and joined by drapery, inscribed 'LD DUNCAN'S OCTR 11 1794 [sic]', 'LD ST VICENT'S [sic] FEBY 14 1797', 'LD HOWE'S JUNE 1 1798 [sic]' and 'LD NELSON'S AUGT 1 1798', a bird in flight below the monogrammed cartouche, on a short plain stem and conical foot, 21.7cm high
