Condition Report:
An approx. 9 by 4 cm U-shaped section out at the rim and restuck, with associated overpainting and overspray.
Catalogue Note:
The scene on the present dish depicts the Han dynasty scholar and government official Zhang Chang and his wife. According to legend, Zhang was so enamored with his wife that he drew her eyebrows everyday, which was upheld by the Emperor as a model of love and affection.
